Brigitte has her car loaded for a relaxing week at a friend’s cottage. She’s got everything she needs – her juicer, her martini mixer and her cappuccino maker. Imagine her surprise when she discovers that there’s no power for her favourite toys. Imagine her even greater surprise when she discovers there’s no indoor plumbing, or a phone! (And a few spiders too.) But she’s brave. She pulls up her Adirondack chair and prepares to enjoy the view of the lake. Imagine her surprise when the chair breaks through the rotten wood of the dock. Even on vacation Brigitte seems to end up in a lumber store. She stocks up with everything she needs to rebuild the dock. When it’s done, she’s all ready for a dinner of cold beans from a can, red wine and roasted marshmallows for dessert. Or maybe not. Soon Brigitte is enjoying a relaxing week away from it all – in her hot tub.
